Thanks to support from the BMA Local Buying Program and the Local Buying Community Foundation, TM3 Training Solutions will offer a series of night workshops to provide accessible and engaging training for small businesses and contractors in the Dysart and Moranbah areas. TM3 Managing Director Melissa Westcott said despite the diversity of training opportunities available, it can often be difficult for small business owners to take time away from work during business hours. ”We hope that by providing a new format of training, tailored to the needs of local businesses where they choose their specific program, they can make the most of their valuable time,” Mrs Westcott said.
The eight workshops, which begin this month, will involve industry leaders covering topics like workplace health and safety, financial business control, websites, social media and marketing. There will also be a workshop dedicated to Contractors, which aims to help them ensure they are bidding for the right contract, accurately responding to tenders, and managing their contracts effectively. “The training topics offer something for everyone, whether you’re a small business working in the mining industry, retail business, contractor or not for profit organisation,” said Mrs Westcott.
The workshops were officially launched at the Local Buying Community Foundation Networking Event on 13 June in Moranbah by BMA Head of External Affairs Vincent Cosgrove. “This program will take generic training and turn it into a format that’s unique and targeted to businesses in Moranbah and Dysart,” Mr Cosgrove said. "Local businesses are critical to building a strong regional economy, and I really encourage people to make the time to get invloved- you never know waht it could lead it."
As an added incentive, businesses that attend at least one workshop are able to sign up for a small business support consultation package, which will allow them to access one-on-one support in an area of their choice at a heavily reduced fee.
